What is a PLO equity calculator?

A PLO equity calculator works out your share of the pot in Pot-Limit Omaha, where every player is dealt four cards and must make their hand from exactly two of those four hole cards plus exactly three of the five board cards. That two-of-four rule is what makes Omaha equities so different from hold'em, and it is why a hold'em calculator gives you the wrong answer for PLO. How to use it

Why Omaha equities run so close

Because every player sees nine cards to make a hand from, big hands connect far more often, so equities bunch together. A hand that would be a huge favorite in hold'em is often only a small favorite in Omaha, and the nuts change constantly as the board runs out. How is PLO equity different from hold'em?

In Omaha you must use exactly two of your four hole cards, no more and no fewer. A hold'em calculator lets you use any number of hole cards, so it overstates flushes and straights and gives wrong PLO numbers. This tool applies the two-of-four rule correctly.

Can I calculate equity against a random hand?

Yes. Set an opponent to Random and the calculator runs your hand against every possible four-card holding, which is the standard "vs a random hand" equity.
