Study Method
A Weekly Poker Study Routine You Will Actually Keep
A weekly routine
| When | Time | What |
|---|---|---|
| Mon–Fri | 10–15 min | Preflop range drills for one seat (GTO Ranges+) |
| 2–3 days | 15 min | Postflop spot practice on one texture (Postflop+) |
| Once a week | 30–45 min | Review the week's flagged hands against Solver+ |
| Ongoing | In-session | Flag any hand you were unsure about for later review |
Most study plans are written for a version of you with unlimited time and willpower. This one is built for the actual you, the one with a job and a phone.
Daily: small range reps
Ten minutes of drilling one seat's range does more than a two-hour session you do once and never repeat. The point is frequency: the borders only become reflexes through spacing.
Weekly: one real review
Once a week, sit down with the hands you flagged during play and check them against the solved answer. This is where the leaks you actually have (not the ones you imagine) get found and fixed.
Always: flag, do not fix at the table
When a spot confuses you mid-session, do not spiral. Flag it and move on. The table is for playing your best current game; the study session is for upgrading it. Keeping those separate is what keeps the routine sustainable.

How much poker study is enough?
Enough to keep the loop turning. Short daily range drills plus one weekly review beats sporadic marathons. The metric is consistency, not hours logged.
When should I study versus play?
Keep them separate. Play your best current game at the table and flag confusing spots; upgrade that game in dedicated study sessions. Trying to solve hands mid-session hurts both.
Keep studying
