Big Blind vs Cutoff Open: PLO 3-Bet Range (100bb 6-Max)

PLO 3-betting is tight and polarised. Overall the Big Blind only 3-bets 7% here, but the mix is driven almost entirely by suit structure: unpaired double-suited hands 3-bet 17.2% while the same ranks rainbow 3-bet just 0%. The paired, double-suited shapes at the top of the chart are the value core; the rest is a small, disciplined bluff and semi-bluff selection.

Notice how much of the range prefers to call rather than 3-bet. At 21% flatting, the Big Blind keeps a wide, connected calling range that plays well postflop in position and realises equity, rather than bloating the pot with hands that flip. In PLO, where equities run close, over-3-betting is a leak: it turns a small edge into a coinflip for a big pot.

The working heuristic: 3-bet your paired and double-suited premiums for value plus a few double-suited hands with blockers as bluffs, flat a wide band of playable double- and single-suited hands, and fold the rainbow trash that cannot continue. The fold number is high on purpose.
