Chapter 03

Nash Charts

The reference tool at the heart of Preflop+. Nash Charts show you the mathematically optimal action for every hand in every preflop scenario.

The Hand Matrix

A 13x13 hand matrix displays all 169 unique starting hands:

Diagonal Pocket pairs (AA, KK, QQ, ... , 22) running top-left to bottom-right
Above Suited hands (AKs, AQs, etc.)
Below Offsuit hands (AKo, AQo, etc.)

Each cell is colour-coded by frequency — brighter colours mean higher play frequency, muted colours mean fold. Tap any cell to see the exact action frequency for that hand.

Configuring the Scenario

  1. 1
    Number of Players

Select your table size: 2 to 9 players. Each size changes which positions are available.

  2. 2
    Ante

Choose the ante structure: No Ante, 10%, 12.5%, 20%, or BB Ante. Antes widen ranges because there's more money in the pot.

  3. 3
    Stack Size

Select effective stack depth from 5 BB to 30 BB. Use arrow buttons to page through sizes. Shorter stacks mean wider shoving ranges.

  4. 4
    Action Type

Choose: Shove (go all-in first), Call (an opponent shoved and you decide whether to call), Rejam (an opponent raised and you re-shove all-in over them), or Call Rejam (you opened, an opponent went all-in over your raise, and you decide whether to call).

  5. 5
    Hero & Villain Position

Select your seat (UTG, LJ, HJ, CO, BTN, SB, BB). For Call/Rejam actions, also select the opponent's position.

Start with simple scenarios (e.g., SB vs BB shove at 10 BB) to build intuition. Compare how ranges change as stack depth increases and notice how antes widen your ranges.
Chapter 04

Nash Trainer

Practice optimal preflop decisions based on Nash equilibrium theory. The trainer uses an ELO rating system to track your improvement over time.

Configure Your Session

Marginal Spots Only

Toggle on to focus on close, borderline decisions where the correct answer isn't obvious. Great for advanced practice.

Decision Points

Choose which actions to practise: Shove, Call, Rejam, and/or Call Rejam. Toggle each on or off.

Ante Levels

Select which ante structures to include: No Ante, 10%, 12.5%, 20%, BB Ante.

Players & Stack Sizes

Toggle table sizes (2-9 players) and stack depth ranges (5-10, 10-15, 15-20, 20-25, 25-30 BB).

During Training

  1. 1
    Read the Scenario

A poker table is displayed with your seat (Hero) and the opponent's seat (Villain) highlighted. Stack size, positions, action type, and ante level are shown.

  2. 2
    View Your Cards

Your hole cards are shown face-up.

  3. 3
    Make Your Decision

Tap Yes or No to answer whether you should take the action with this hand.

Results

Instant Feedback

After each answer, see correct/incorrect feedback, the full range matrix with your hand highlighted, and the correct action frequency explained.

ELO Rating

Your ELO rating tracks your long-term improvement. It goes up for correct answers and down for incorrect ones, with harder questions carrying more weight.

Session Summary

See your updated ELO, total questions answered, pass/fail percentage, and your last 10 results as a visual streak.

Chapter 05

Equity Drills

Learn to estimate hand equity accurately and quickly across different scenarios and difficulty levels.

Configure Your Drill

Difficulty

Easy (3 options, wide gaps), Normal (5 options, moderate gaps), or Hard (6 options, narrow gaps).

Spot Type

All Spots, Cards Only (specific vs specific), Ranges Only (range vs range), or Cards vs Ranges.

Street

Preflop, Flop, or Turn — each with community cards shown as applicable.

During Training

  1. 1
    View the Setup

Your hero cards are displayed along with the opponent's hand or range, plus any board cards.

  2. 2
    Estimate the Equity

Multiple-choice options show equity percentage ranges (e.g., "35-45%", "45-55%"). Tap the range you believe is correct.

  3. 3
    Review the Result

The correct equity is revealed with your selection highlighted green (correct) or red (incorrect).

Start on Easy to build a feel for common matchups. Learn the rules of thumb: pairs vs overcards (~55/45), dominated hands (~70/30).
Chapter 06

Pot Odds Trainer

Learn whether you have enough equity to profitably call a bet in any situation.

Options

Extra Info Toggle

When on, your exact equity is shown alongside the question (easier). Turn it off for a harder challenge where you estimate equity yourself.

During Training

  1. 1
    Read the Table

A poker table is dealt with 3, 5, or 6 players. The board shows a flop, turn, or river.

  2. 2
    Assess the Situation

Your hero cards, the villain's cards, the pot size, and the bet to call are all displayed.

  3. 3
    Make Your Call

Tap Yes or No — do you have enough equity to continue?

Results Breakdown

Hero Equity Your actual equity percentage against the villain
Required Equity The minimum equity needed to break even on a call
Pot Size Total pot before your decision
Bet to Call How much you need to put in
Calling EV Expected value of calling (positive = profitable)
Remember the formula: Required Equity = Bet to Call / (Pot + Bet to Call). Practice with extra info off once you're comfortable.
Chapter 07

Combinatorics Trainer

Learn to count hand combinations and understand how your hole cards act as blockers that reduce the opponent's possible holdings.

During Training

  1. 1
    View the Setup

Your hero cards are displayed along with the board (flop/turn/river) and the villain's range shown as a 13x13 grid.

  2. 2
    Count the Combos

You're asked how many combos of a specific hand type the villain has. Choose from 6 multiple-choice options.

  3. 3
    Learn from Results

The correct combo count is revealed with blocker effects explained — how your specific hole cards reduce the villain's possible holdings.

Hand Types You'll Practise

Made Hands

High Card, Pair, Two Pair, Three-of-a-Kind, Straight, Flush, Full House, Four-of-a-Kind, Straight Flush.

Drawing Hands

Gutshot, Open-Ended Straight Draw (OESD), and Flush Draw.

Combo counting is essential for range analysis. When you know how many combinations of strong hands your opponent can have, you make better decisions about calling, folding, or bluffing.
Chapter 08

Ranges Trainer

Memorise and apply your custom preflop ranges through targeted practice sessions.

Configure Your Session

Select Range

Choose which of your custom ranges to train with from your saved ranges in "My Ranges".

Filters

Filter by hero action (Open, 3-Bet, Call, Shove, etc.), stack sizes, and table sizes to focus your practice.

During Training

  1. 1
    Read the Scenario

A poker table shows your position and game setup (e.g., "UTG Open at 20 BB in a 6-max game").

  2. 2
    View Your Hand

Your hero hand is displayed face-up.

  3. 3
    Answer

Tap Yes or No — do you take this action with this hand?

Results

Feedback

After each answer, the full range grid is shown with your hand highlighted so you can see exactly where it falls. Your last 10 results are tracked as a visual streak.

Create your ranges first in the Range Editor, then use this trainer to memorise them. Focus on borderline hands — those are the ones you'll get wrong most often at the table.

Chapter 12

Poker Concepts Glossary

Quick reference for key terms used throughout the app.

Nash Equilibrium

A game theory strategy where neither player can improve by changing their strategy alone. In poker, it defines unexploitable preflop ranges.

Equity

Your percentage chance of winning the pot at showdown.

Pot Odds

The ratio of the current pot to the cost of a call. If your equity exceeds the pot odds requirement, calling is profitable.

MDF (Minimum Defense Frequency)

The minimum percentage of your range you must continue with to prevent your opponent from profiting with any bluff.

Alpha

The breakeven bluff frequency — how often a bluff needs to succeed to be profitable. Alpha = Bet / (Bet + Pot).

EV (Expected Value)

The average amount you expect to win or lose with a decision over the long run. Positive EV = profitable.

Combos / Combinations

The number of specific card combinations that make up a hand. E.g., there are 6 combos of any pocket pair.

Blockers

Cards in your hand that reduce the number of combinations your opponent can hold. E.g., holding an Ace "blocks" opponent from having AA.

SPR (Stack-to-Pot Ratio)

Effective stack divided by the pot. Lower SPR = more committed to the pot.

Geometric Sizing

A bet sizing strategy that divides remaining stack evenly across streets (as a percentage of pot) to naturally get all-in by the river.

Key Actions

Shove — all-in preflop. Rejam — re-shove over a raise. 3-Bet / 4-Bet / 5-Bet — successive re-raises. Open — first voluntary raise. ISO-Raise — isolation raise against a limper.

ELO Rating

A skill rating system (borrowed from chess) that adjusts based on performance. Higher = better. Starting value is 1000.

Range & Frequency

A range is the set of all hands you would play in a given situation, shown as a 13x13 matrix. Frequency is how often you take an action with a hand (100% = always, 50% = mixed strategy).

BB & M-Value

BB (Big Blind) — stack sizes are measured in BB to normalise across stakes. M-Value — your stack divided by blinds + antes per orbit, showing how many orbits you can survive.
